Unique line of Poultry Vitamin Mineral Products and Specialized Feed Additives.
Production of modern types of poultry with advanced genetic developments requires feed supplemented with vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids to meet their requirements to improve productivity and health of flocks.

ISF POULTRY supplements are a blend of Vitamins A, D, E, and K, Minerals, B-Vitamins, and essential amino acids to produce feed for broilers, laying hens, and turkeys. Recommended Particle Size of Grains (Mash Feed)

When manufacturing feeds for poultry in a MASH FORM the particle size of the processed grain is typically kept coarser than feeds that are pelleted. Below are charts that show examples of the micron (particle) size most poultry nutritionists would suggest.

BROILERS AND ROASTERS

Age (Weeks)Particle Size (microns)
Day 1 to the market1,000 – 1,200 with antibiotics
Day 1 to the market1,500 without antibiotics

LAYERS

Age (Weeks)Particle Size (microns)
0 – 5850 – 1,000
6 weeks and older1,000 – 3,200 microns
Use of oyster shell
or grit (coarse limestone)
Oyster shell, or grit (coarse limestone) can be added to the layer complete feed especially if egg shell quality declines. Another way of improving the hens bone strength and egg shell strength is to provide one feeder with oyster shell or grit (coarse limestone) per every 10 feed feeders in the pen.

TURKEYS

Age (Weeks)Particle Size (microns)
0 – 51,000 – 1,200
6 weeks and older1,200 – 1,500

Offer free choice grit (coarse limestone) with mash diets to turkeys 6 weeks and older to help improve digestibility of feed. Provide 1 feeder with grit per every 10 feed feeders in the pen.

ISF Poultry Supplemental Premixes can also be combined with the ISF Specialty Products to address specific situations. Below are examples of the common use of these combinations.

SOME IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF POULTRY PRODUCTION

FEED
It is important to select reliable suppliers of raw materials. The production of feed of high quality depends on the quality of raw materials. Some protein sources of vegetable origin can contain one or more anti-nutritional factor. Soybean meal (48% protein) is an excellent source of protein. This ingredient is the most reliable source of vegetable protein for poultry. Full fat soybeans are an excellent source of protein as well as fat. This ingredient must be heat treated (cooked) typically by machines called roasters or extruders to destroy the anti nutritional factors that it contains. Heat treated soybeans can be included in the ration up to 20 % by weight in hens feed and its addition may help increase eggs size. Most nutritionists would not recommend more than 15% for broilers, 10% for grower turkeys and 15% for finisher turkeys.

MANAGEMENT GUIDE FOR POULTRY
Poultry species are highly productive. Birds require special care to prevent the outbreak of illnesses and maintain health. It is very important to provide an adequate environment to reach the goals in production that modern poultry breeds offer in the market place.

BROODING
Temperature control is very critical in the wellbeing of birds. During the first week temperature on the floor brooding must be 33 -35º C. Reduce temperature by 2º C every week until 21 -23 ºC. Adjust brooder temperature 24 hours before the birds arrive to the brooder room, and also provide drinkers with water 24 hours before the birds arrive to the brooder room to acclimate water to room temperature. This is especially important in the winter season. Birds also require a constant range of relative humidity. Ideal relative humidity into the pen is 40 to 60%. If is below 40% birds will be dehydrated and will lose weight. If relative humidity is higher than 60% there will be more wet litter. It is very important to put a ring around the brooder to prevent the little birds from going too far away from the heat, water and feed source. The height of the brooder should be adjusted regularly to provide the proper zone heating for these little birds. If the temperature is too high birds will spread out away of the heat source. If the temperature is too low birds will huddle below the heat source. If there are drafts, birds will crowd to one side of the circle. When the temperature is well adjusted birds are evenly distributed into the ring.
